It was designed and built by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai under the Indian government's Make in India initiative over a span of 18 months .So This is best thing done by Indian government in Make India initiative . It's costing is also very low as compare to importing from other country, almost 40% government saved. It's total cost is 100 crore for first production, and it is expected that in future it's costing will reduce with time .This train is planed to start it's services from January 2019. Now many people will raise a question that why we need this services . Many countries have expressed interest in the train set and we are happy and proud that an indigenously made product is attracting so much interest. The rolling stock market worldwide is worth about 200 billion dollars and we want a significant share of it. Now our only aim is to see this train successful run in 2019. Once this train will start it's service it will creating demand from out world , because of it's low cost and flexible with existing track ,many country who can not able to buy a bullet train , are showing interest in "train 18". "Train 18" is a kind of Engineless train, like Shatabdi Express . So , this is time to replace Shatabdi Express with "train 18".Few important things about this train , it automatically recognise outside temperature and adjust it's internal temperature.Train 18 has 16 coaches in all, with a capacity for over 1,100 people.
